You Are Unique is one of the most personal songs I have ever written. It is inspired by my own journey of chasing a dream, facing disappointment, and finally discovering that everyone has their own stage in life.

A Little Girl with a Dream

Since I was a little girl, I loved singing. Music gives me a sense of accomplishment, and I dreamed of becoming a singer one day.

As I grew older, my singing teacher encouraged me to join singing competitions. I was excited, but I was also very nervous.

The Competition Day

On the day of the competition, I worried that eating too much would affect my singing. Before leaving home, I only ate a small piece of bread.

Later, my teacher bought some dessert for us to enjoy while watching the competition. It looked delicious, but I was too nervous to eat.

When it was finally my turn to perform, my hands were shaking as I stood on the stage.

After I finished singing, I felt so relieved. I sat down, and finally enjoyed the dessert that I had been thinking about all day.

Unfortunately, when I arrived home, my stomach became very uncomfortable, and I became sick.

My mother looked at me with concern and gently asked,

"Does joining competitions make you suffer? Is this really the right path for you?"

Her question stayed in my heart for a long time.

Where Is My Stage?

I began asking myself,

"Where is my stage?"

Maybe I simply had not found the right path yet.

Instead of giving up, I continued learning and searching.

One day, I had the opportunity to consult an award-winning musician. After listening to my music, the musician told me something I will never forget:

"You have plenty of time."

Those words gave me some lights.

I decided to learn the electronic keyboard before taking music production course.

Many classmates were much younger than me, but I was never embarrassed.

This is my dream, and this is the path I chose to follow.

You Are Unique

I wrote this song for anyone who has ever questioned themselves.

Maybe you are comparing with others.

Find yourself, no better than others

Maybe you are still searching for your stage.

You have your talent, capability

You have your outlook and personality

Focus on your strength

Don't compare yourself with others.

Because you are unique, not limited edition.

Dreams Have No Limits

The final scenes in the music video were inspired by my own dreams.

In one dream, people sat on special chairs that gently carried them upstairs without climbing any steps.

In another dream, two orange fish glided along the wall, leaving behind an orange fish-shaped imprint. The other grey fish became so surprised.

Then, a fish with little legs climbed out of a cupboard, shocking all the nearby fish once again.

These dream scenes may never happen in real life, but imagination has no limits.

Sometimes the most unique ideas are born inside our dreams.
